FreeBird Adventures is a Canadian owned and operated tour provider that has been running recreation and adventure trips throughout Alberta and British Columbia since 2005. We offer fully customize-able trips and excursions, allowing you to “Choose Your Adventure”.
Our travel concept is different from a regular "tour". When you travel with FreeBird, you get to choose the things that interest you most. We build our trips as if we were travelling ourselves. We don't have all the rules or a strict itinerary.
We love having the Freedom to Wing It!
To provide exceptional and affordable custom group excursions with personalized service.
A small, flexible business, showing people from and all over the world the beauty and versatility of Western Canada while honouring our responsibility to protect our natural heritage.
ABOUT CHRIS KAY
Chris is passionate about "doing fun stuff". In his 10+ years working in the sports and recreation industry, Chris was inspired by designing, creating, and implementing new programs for youth, teens and adults. The best thing about going to work everyday was watching people take part in a program he created! In his role with FreeBird Adventures, Chris gets to expand on his passion for planning and designing "fun stuff" for people to experience. He imagines each multi day trip or single day excursion as a recreation program- requiring careful planning, thoughtful consideration to detail, and a strong desire to want to take part! He has an exceptional ability to listen to what people are looking for, structure an itinerary that combines multiple dimensions of fun, excellent food, transportation, and mind blowing activities while being extremely aware of group dynamics, individual nuances, and minor details that make up the ultimate day for every member of the group.
Chris lives in Cochrane with his talented wife (and high school sweetheart) Jessa, their senile old cat Obsidian (Sid) and their awesomely talented blue heeler puppy Zuli! When they aren't working their buns off, the Kays like to get outdoors, try new activities and fill their time "doing fun stuff!"
