We are Brian and Loren Braat - the owners and operators of FreeBird Adventures. A few years ago, we were travelling the world looking for the perfect idea to bring to Canada for travellers like us - outdoorsy, want to see it all, hate typical tours and love the thrill of the next adventure. We never found it anywhere specifically, but we came up with some pretty good ideas along the way. From all our travels and living overseas, as well as our incredible knowledge of Alberta and British Columbia, we came up with what we think is the ultimate trip - it's what we would do, if we were you!

We pride ourselves in doing things not only right, but perfect. And as perfectionists, this means doing it our selves. We hire staff for some things, but the driving, meals and touring, as well as all the bookings and adventure organizing, is all done by us. We are your guides, your information source, your chef, your driver and your entertainment. We will surpass all your expectations, because it is what we love to do. We want you to have an amazing trip and know you will come to love Canada, and all it has to offer, just as much as we do.

Personally, we were both raised in small towns in Alberta, went to school in Alberta, married 10 years ago in Alberta and currently live in...you guessed it...Alberta. Having the Rocky Mountains and the province of British Columbia in our backyard, led to years of exploring and camping, which in turn led to our love of Canada and the outdoors. We are in our 30's and have no children - except our adorable mutt Wookie, who comes along as our company mascot.

As for a brief resume, Brian grew up on a farm, and then turned to the inspection industry (he hit the two main things in Alberta - cows and oil!) and Loren was a teacher (don't hold that against her) and coach. Both of us knew we wanted something different, but just couldn't figure it out, so we did more schooling and the extra letters behind our names didn't help either. Then we moved to a third world country, travelled the world, and here we are back in Canada. Now we have found our dream; to travel where we love and to make a living doing it while we show you the best of our country.
